Not bad.

Not bad. Lots of lighting on the outfit, and the use of only yellow is nicely done. I kind of like the suitcase-head idea. The figure is good, but my problems are with the rest of the piece. So much dedicated to text, and the text's placing just feels a little awkward, mostly because of those ray-filled boxes around the words. And, finally, "He's got a PhD in BEING RAD." just feels a little too similar to "He's got a PhD in KICKING YOUR ASS." from MondoMedia's Dr. Tran.
It's a good drawing, I'm just not particularly fond of how it's put together.

CaptainDale responds:

You know, you're exactly right. I drew the figure alone about three months ago, and not long after I felt the piece was missing something, and whatever I put into the background never satisfied me. I finally settled with the text boxes here, which also never sat well with me.
Looking at it now after reading your review, though, I couldn't agree more. The boxes are indeed superfluous, and detract from the rest of the drawing. I guess I was just afraid without some text to explain it, the punchline behind a doctor with a briefcase for a head would've been too obscure for most people, and in the end I choked.

I'll definitely keep these things in mind in my future works.

Glare!

I absolutely love the girl on the right. She's very well done, from the hair to the expression, and especially the hand. Excellent detail! Excellent shading, as well. The left girl's face is strangely put together. Her mouth is way too far up, too close to the nose, which, for some really strange reason, is covered by a star. Considering that the right girl's hair is so well done, where you can see individual locks of it, the left girl's hair, which has stylized hair that ends in straight lines and looks as though she has massive blocky locks of hair, seems too unrealistic in comparison. Not that I hate that way of doing hair, it just doesn't fit when the other girl has such detailed, realistic hair.
The glare in the center is distracting!
Besides these little flaws, this is really good. Your capacity for detail is astounding and you have great shading.

Why?

Why is this M? Cleavage is what the T-teen rating is for.
Besides that, this is positively superb. The face is perfect; pretty, great expression (or near lack thereof), great shading, and the hair is magnificent.
The perspective is probably the best part. I have no real comments on that other than: well done.
The detail on the clothes is amazing, particularly on the skirt. Lots of folds, very realistic.

Oh noes.

Were your other works stolen? Was that why you removed them? If so, I'm sorry. It sucks to have credit stolen from you. I really liked your other works, especially Flu.
As for this, it is absolutely fantastic. I'm not terribly certain of the gender of the featured character, but they look great; I'm leaning towards male. You make androgyny fabulous. The piece is very, very clean, with good shading and a very honed anime style that you seem to make your own. You're great with giving your characters clothing; the color scheme of their outfit is great, it looks good, and the mask just tops it off wonderfully. The perspective is lovely, and the sky's curvature works. As for the sky, the colors are nice and the clouds feel natural to the work. Finally, the edge of his blade has a cool effect to it with the yellow splatters and what looks like corrosion.

Kero-the-boy-killer responds:

Thank you for your lovely comment <3 Frankly sometimes i'm confused about the genders of my characters as well... But i don't focus on that much XD And yes, my works have been stolen and posted elsewhere. Even with my name written on them... ==; But even though that absolutely infuriated me, i'm thinking about continuing with posting my work on here... only... with more watermarks of course.

Dood!

I like it, as I like Prinnies and your style, but the one on the right bugs me. It's stretched out. Too tall; just look at it compared to the other one. Besides that, it's a tad awkwardly placed.
The left prinny, however, is great. Very accurate. great expression, love the scarf from the PSP game.

Sev4 responds:

Ahah yeah, I forgot to add, my friend is very tall and thin and the right prinny represents him ^_^

My favorite.

Of all your work, this is my favorite. I dig the whole outfit and the dark theme, as well as her expression.
Nothing to say other than that your style continually grows in impressiveness. Very clean, very good.

Whoa.

I fucking love it. Can I have it in a Christmas Card? Please?
I'll begin by saying that the shading is superb, as it always is.
The Girl: She looks amazing. Great expression, and I love how her cloak blends into ocean, with a tsunami occurring. Her crown with flowers is well detailed and fitting.
Everything else: Wow. The clouds and their lightning are very cool. I especially love the style of the lightning and how it weaves by the candle. The clouds become the head of a ferocious beast, and that transition is interesting, to say the least. The clock tower as a horn is a nice touch, and the tower itself is well detailed; you invluded all 12 markings and a little birdy on top.
I love it. Keep things up, Hoboweasel.

Hoboweasel responds:

Hehe, thanks a lot man! :D

Someone else showed me how to draw that lighting effect like that, I was just messing around though (I personally think it's a bit of a weak point, maybe I could have made it appear more light or defined, I don't know. If I had flash I guess...).

She thought it was really cool too :J (we just let out for break a while back and I had to give it to her then).

Juno was mad, he knew he'd been had, so he shot at the sun with a gun. He shot at the sun with a gun; he shot at his wily one, only friend.
