Funny.

Made me quite literally burst out laughing. Really funny twist on Rtil's work. It probably shouldn't be E, though, as he is naked. You don't have to see naughty bits (thank god we don't) for it to have partial nudity.
Technically, isn't a bad piece, either.

Oh, hell yes.

This is an amazing iteration of Arakune. I love the arm he's holding his face with, it looks great.
The background and the textures of the piece look great.
I usually have more to say about art, but this is a simple piece and it looks good.
Keep it up.

I like it.

Awesome! There's someone else who actually like FFXIII other than me. Lots of people are screaming blasphemy that it's different from the other parts of the series. I personally love it.
Anyways, to the art. The chibi-Lightning looks great, especially her body! I love the way you did her hands and feet. It's really cute. Your attention to detail on her outfit is very good and she looks just like the in-game character.
The background looks too unrefined in comparison to the character, though, mostly because she is done with outlines and the rainbow isn't. If she's supposed to be walking on the rainbow, it would look better for the rainbow to be drawn using a similar medium (outlines/clean color) as the character. Your clouds are also really funny looking.
Good work on the character; the background needs work. I do like this piece a lot, though!

Censorship.

If you're rating this low because it features Jesus, I'd suggest you take a look back at what art is. It's expression of the inner-workings of the mind, and that is something that should NEVER be censored. In what way is this disrespecting Jesus, anyways? Stop throwing a fit if it something from a religion isn't depicted exactly the way you feel it should be or if someone even mentions religion in a way that doesn't seem like unquestioning praise; not everything that isn't adoration is disrespect.
Anyways, I'm docking two points for the leg, as many other people have pointed out. The other point is lost because of how the line-art looks a tad messy and seems to have white spots around it where the coloring didn't fit. All around, it's still a pretty skillful job considering shading, coloring, and detail. The perspective used is done pretty well.
Good work.

It was a quickie, and it's almost two years old now that I count.. :) I appreciate the comment.

Pretty good rendition.

My favorite character is Taokaka. This bastard is cool, but he's fucking difficult to play as.
Anyways, I'm here to talk about art, not Guilty Gear's cooler little brother. As far as accuracy goes, his mask feels too elongated; his mask is more circular, in reality. You did, however, do a decent job with making him feel ethereal and fluid, and I do like the kind of sketchy paint strokes. You did a pretty good job with shading, where it is on his mask and claw-things. Some little things, though are that he has a mixed look of looking like he's made of a shadow and cloth. I feel shadow, but some "cloth" texture would have made this piece great.
Overall, pretty good work.

Jcdr responds:

Thanks a lot for the comment, i've tried this style only a few times, so i appreciate the critics.

And my fav character is Haku-men

Great detail.

You've got a lot of detail and shading going on there, and the body and clothes look fantastic. Gives the rag-tag look and feel; good creativity with the different bits of different kinds of cloth in the clothing. Good work on the hair as well! Overall, it's a really good piece.
Two problems: The eyes. They're of different sizes, and the right one (our left) is too far over from the nose; they're off center and give the face this imbalanced look that is a turn-off. The other problem is your cropping on the thumbnail. The entire image is in there, but the image isn't square, so the thumbnail looks like a flattened version of this. Not actually a flaw in the drawing, just in your representation of it in the portal.
Good work!

TheOmiyan responds:

THANKS for the review and about the cropping of my drawing, yeah i had some technical difficulties and for some reason i'm unable to crop again this is the same thing for my other drawing.

Yes.

Hoboweasel, I think I've told you this countless times, but I fucking love your work. This is easily my favorite piece by you, probably even better than Tempestas.Style and imagination abound here, and it's your same heavily shaded, quirky, dark themes as in most pieces by you. What could win a 10/10 all on its own is the wood detail of his face. Just amazing. The body is interesting, nothing to amazing, but it accents the piece and gives the little character dude a kind of cute look. The pike looks great; you got the shape right and it has a bit of texture that looks good. The dark pen lines and the pencil outlines that surround him on all sides could make or break the piece, and they just make it WAY better.
Simply fantastic. I love your style so much.

Hoboweasel responds:

Thanks, really glad you like it! :3 I really appreciate your reviews :J

Good!

Perspective is quite the tricky little thing, but you did a good job with it here.
Bright colors bring it out and the character sets a mood. The character rings as a "dark hero hellbent on revenge" type. The mask makes him look evil, and the cape gives a mysterious or epic feel. His skin color is a tad strange, but that's mostly because it's color feels weird in conjunction with the color of his clothes.
The background looks nice; it's simple, as something in the distance and out of focus usually would be. The setting is cool, a craggy valley type area that makes me think of our hero crossing a wasteland for his mission.
You need to try and make your line-work cleaner, though! It's messy in a lot of areas. As well, the sky is a little plain.
As a whole, it's quite good!

Interesting

The mixture of styles here is so strange. In the center is an anime character, but surrounding that character is an abstract painting. The combination results in something like surrealism, but it's an odd combination nonetheless. The fact that the anime character is colored the way it is helps to blend it, though.
Anyways; technical stuff! Based on the angle of the shoulder, the elbow is too far the left and it also seems just a little too far down. The thumb on the hand looks like another finger that doesn't fit with the rest of the hand. I like the coloration and the overly simplified trees at the top and the use of pink on the character. The black crosses surrounding the character give it a goth feel.
All around, a very good piece. It's Interesting and aesthetically pleasing.

Hello!

I was the one who scouted you. Welcome to the portal!
As for the art, this is my favorite piece of yours. It's extraordinarily smooth and stylistic, and the outcome is a very pleasant piece that's really likable. It's well detailed and the shading is good. The only possible flaw with it is that the clouds in the background don't completely fit with the characters. They do still look good, though.

Late response is late!
Thanks! :}

Juno was mad, he knew he'd been had, so he shot at the sun with a gun. He shot at the sun with a gun; he shot at his wily one, only friend.
